Not every watch becomes a classic.

Yet every truly iconic timepiece reflects the aesthetics, technical achievements, and spirit of its era.

This June, distinguished representatives from the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) will travel to Shenzhen to participate in the 31st China (Shenzhen) Watch Week & WINNOTIME 26, joining industry leaders, professionals, collectors, and enthusiasts for a series of discussions on fine watchmaking, cultural heritage, and the future of horology.

As one of the world's leading advocates for fine watchmaking culture, FHH has long been dedicated to promoting horological knowledge and appreciation through education, research, and public engagement. Through its educational initiatives and certification programs, the Foundation continues to help audiences around the world better understand the craftsmanship, history, and cultural significance behind mechanical timepieces.

This year, FHH brings that passion for watchmaking to Shenzhen.

A Dialogue Between East and West

On June 26, the FHH delegation will attend the opening ceremony of China Watch Week and WINNOTIME 26 before visiting China Time Valley and meeting with key industry representatives. The delegation will also tour local watchmaking facilities and museums to gain deeper insight into Shenzhen’s remarkable development as one of the world's most important watchmaking and innovation hubs.

From its origins as China's watchmaking capital to its position today as a center for innovation and advanced manufacturing, Shenzhen continues to write its own chapter in the story of modern horology.

The presence of FHH adds an important international dimension to this ongoing dialogue.

FHH Vice President to Speak at the Greater Bay Area Watchmaking Forum

On the morning of June 27, Ms. Aurelie Streit, Vice President of FHH, will deliver a keynote presentation at the Greater Bay Area Watchmaking Forum.

Joining industry experts, brand representatives, and watchmaking professionals, she will share insights into the evolving landscape of contemporary watchmaking and discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of the industry.

What happens when centuries of Swiss fine watchmaking heritage meet one of the world's fastest-growing watchmaking ecosystems?

The answer may emerge through conversations such as these.

Public Masterclass: What Makes a Watch Iconic?

Why do certain watches become classics?

Only a select few timepieces transcend their era, remaining relevant and admired for decades—or even generations. They become benchmarks for collectors, sources of inspiration for brands, and enduring references in watchmaking history.

But what exactly makes a watch iconic?

On the afternoon of June 27, FHH-certified educator Michelle Feng will present a special masterclass: Iconic Watches: An Overview

Exploring design language, historical context, technical innovation, and cultural influence, the session will examine some of the most celebrated timepieces in horological history and the reasons they continue to resonate with collectors and enthusiasts around the world.

More than a discussion about watches, the masterclass offers an opportunity to reflect on the relationship between aesthetics, innovation, and the enduring value of time.
